About the job

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring an efficient and smooth-running implementation of the automation processes in manufacturing. You work in close cooperation with the production lines and the maintenance team and make a decisive contribution to the exact implementation of trend-setting projects. Alongside acting as the first point of contact for PLC troubleshooting, part of your duties will also revolve around (financial) scaling of the projects.


In addition, your tasks will include

  • Clarifying and formulating goals and missions in the project preparation phase
  • Drafting of the work breakdown structure incl. effort estimation and preparation of a schedule and resource plan
  • Cost calculating before project start as well as cost monitoring/budget compliance in the implementation phase
  • Controlling of compliance with deadlines and dates as well as updating of the project plan if necessary
  • Managing the project team


About You

You are an enthusiastic technician and have a comprehensive understanding of technical processes and equipment in the manufacturing process with a strong, field-tested, automation background. You want to demonstrate your technical and organizational skills in projects and are willing to take on responsibility. You keep calm even under pressure and thus ensure the smooth implementation of your tasks within project teams at the world's largest refractories group.


What we expect from you in terms of


Education and Skills

  • Completed technical training in the fields of electrical engineering/mechatronics/ automation technology as a course of (systems engineering) study or comparable degree
  • Knowledge of PLC controls, at best Allen Bradley SL5000, CAD and TIA (no programming skills necessary)
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • MS-Project knowledge desirable
  • Ideally, basic SAP knowledge



  • English – Proficient/Fluent
  • Any other language is considered as an asset


Work Experience

  • Several years of professional experience with industrial controls and automation technologies
  • First experience with project management
