Project Manager



About you


You are a refractory specialist with experience in the industry and have sound expertise in the application of refractory products, preferably in aggregates from the steel sector. Your excellent cooperation and communication skills make it easy to act as an interface between RHI Magnesita and its customers. As a Project Manager at RHI Magnesita you will work hand in hand with the departments Technical Excellence, Supply Chain and Machinery and pursue the common goal of ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term customer loyalty.


In addition, you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (e.g.: metallurgical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering or materials engineering)
  • At least 10 years of professional experience of refractory application in the steel sector
  • At least 5 years of experience of the steel making units: EAF, Ladle Furnace and Caster
  • Good MS-Office knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge in English and Hindi
  • Outstanding leadership skills
  • High social competence and a sovereign appearance
  • Distinctive problem-solving competence
  • Strong customer orientation


About the job


The purpose of the Project Manager position is to provide leadership to the RHIM team to maintain the current supply and maintenance contract and develep and grow current and future opportunities. The role will be based in Bahrain. The main objectives are: ensuring target refractory sales turnover and profitability; installation services quality audits; legal and system compliance in terms of safety, health and  environment. Additionally promote excellent customer relations and marketing of RHI products and services.


Your tasks will include:

  • Project management function with regards to business set-up on site
  • Daily meetings with the Customer
  • Material ordering according to refractory unit designs and consumptions
  • Warehousing & distribution of materials to point of installation
  • Quality checks with regards to installation and maintenance of refractory materials and other mechanical parts
  • Following up closely the steel making operating parameters and the impact on refractory performance and consumption
  • Wrecking an collection of used material
  • Maintenance of installation and other equipment
  • Preparing monthly technical report and invoicing information
  • Identification and management of sub-contractors
  • Equipment/ asset management and procurement
  • Set-up and maintenance of a refractory material trial register(with approval matrix), maintenance and trial reporting
  • Liaise with the customer with regards to requirements on a regular basis
  • Deal with customer complaints
  • Promote RHI image and products
  • Report and action on all non conforming services and/or products
  • Record and report on daily and monthly refractory performances and costs
