About you

You are enthusiastic about taking on purchasing responsibility for various product groups in the area of technical procurement. You are interested in technics but also have a favor for business economics. Reporting to the Manager Technical Procurement Europe you will be an essential part of RHI Magnesita’s European Procurement team, contributing to achieving the company’s financial and operational targets. You have strong communication skills, are willing to take responsibility, and keep calm under high pressure, helping to decide even the toughest negotiations in the favor of the world market leader in refractories. You are an innovative and creative individual who manages to bring others on board to work towards a common goal. In a Post-Covid environment, you’re ready to travel up to 20% of your time for this role. The position will be located in Leoben.


In addition you have:

  • Higher technical education (Fachhochschule, University) or several years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in the area of Procurement or Supply Chain Management
  • Analytical skills to develop programs and measures
  • Focus on results and strive for continuous improvement
  • English and German language fluently
  • Very good MS Office knowledge is required; SAP (Ariba) and Microsoft BI knowledge desirable
  • Affinity for digital tools
  • Hands-on mentality


About the job

As a purchaser, you will be responsible for various product groups (e.g. Capex, MRO, Packaging, Services) and the tasks in these regards are among others: procurement market research, supplier selection, negotiations, the conclusion of contracts and claim management. This will be done in close cooperation with our internal customers. Therefore, you will be the contact point for many internal departments on all hierarchy levels and work closely with our plants and administration as well as with our suppliers.


Your tasks will include:

  • Purchasing responsibility for specific technical material groups
  • Conducting negotiations and supplier meetings
  • Market studies, identifying trends and opportunities in the sourcing markets
  • Managing contracts and issuing Purchase Orders and Outline Agreements
  • Support to improve the overall Purchase-to-Pay process
  • Spend analysis and reporting

We offer you a full-time position (38.5 hours/week) in the department “Technical Procurement Europe” in Leoben. According to the Austrian labor law, we are obligated to state that the monthly gross salary according to collective agreement starts from € 3.003,80 (full-time basis). The actual level of remuneration depends on your qualifications and professional experience. We value your expertise and are permanently aware of market references to design attractive packages.
