To lead and manage all workshop operations in works, lead day‑to‑day workshop activities to support smooth plant operations, compliance with safety standards, ensure timely execution of fabrication, maintenance, and repair jobs. The role involves strategic planning, troubleshooting and team development to support smooth plant operations.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 3-4 years of experience in workshop/maintenance supervision
  • Certifications: CNC operation, (preferred)

Your role

Key Responsibilities:

1. Workshop Operations Management

  • Lead day‑to‑day workshop activities to support smooth plant operations.
  • Ensure timely execution of fabrication, maintenance, and repair jobs.
  • Coordinate with production, maintenance, and procurement teams for uninterrupted workflow.

2. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance

  • Implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoot mechanical, fabrication, and equipment issues effectively.
  • Ensure rapid response to breakdowns to support uninterrupted plant operations.

3. Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce compliance with all safety policies, statutory regulations, and company guidelines, IMS documentation.
  • Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and risk assessments regularly.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard‑free workshop environment.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for team members.

4. Resource & Material Planning

  • Plan and ensure timely availability of raw materials, spare parts, and consumables.
  • Raise indents, coordinate with the stores and procurement teams, and track material movement.
  • Optimize material usage to control costs and minimize waste.

5. SAP & Documentation

  • Manage SAP-PM/MM modules for inventory control and work order processing.
  • Prepare SOPs and SMPs for standardized maintenance practices.

6. Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and guide technicians, welders, fitters, and support staff in daily tasks.
  • Foster teamwork, skill development, and adherence to quality workmanship.
  • Identify training needs and provide coaching to enhance team performance.

7. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Maintain records of job orders, material consumption, equipment history, and workshop KPIs.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on maintenance activities and workshop performance.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance productivity, safety, and operational efficiency.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of workshop operations, fabrication,
  • Proficiency in SAP-PM/MM modules.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous productivity improvement.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on reducing downtime and enhancing efficiency
