Mechanical Service Technician

ENTRY LEVEL - MECHANICAL SERVICE TECHINICAN

Plan and coordinate the proper maintenance for the stock of machines located on customer sits in the Quebec and Montreal area. Identify the machine needs while also following up and installing spare parts of inventory and purchasing planning for the spare components.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Make sure the proper function ability of the machines located at customer plants.
  • Plan for the acquisition of spare and wear parts for the maintenance of machines.
  • Contact the specific technical support by third parties for repairs and preventive maintenance services for the machines.
  • Repairs and preventive maintenance for the sales machines at customer plants and RHI facilities.
  • Technical acceptance of new machines and repairs in suppliers workshops, commissioning of machines at customer plant
  • Assist with inventory management functions.
  • Provide general trouble shooting on machinery/equipment.
  • Daily customer interface related to product sales and performance, along with understanding customer expectations of performance.
  • Daily communication with Leadership regarding all customer developments:  Threats, Potentials, Concerns. Identify and relay information to Leadership pertaining to performance of products, operational changes, recommendation of changes, application potentials, and general audit of customer. Report on quality issues and address problems and suggest solutions.
  • Provide service type functions, which may involve product installation support, including customer product training.
  • On occasion, assist at account sites, outside of designated account area.
  • Travel required between customer sites
  • Participate in trials and document results with respect to new and old products. Assist with the completion of all pre-trial forms, and all trial closing forms.
  • Interact with required internal departments.
  • Adherence to proper safety requirements by client, and use of appropriate PPE at all customer sites.

Minimum Requirements

  • Mechanical Technician Community College Diploma, two years of technical school or equivalent
  • 2 plus years of steel plant/industrial or machinery manufacturer experience
  • 5 years overall working experience in industrial mechanics
  • Ability to learn new computer and platform skills
  • Experience in logistic / production / quality Management an asset
  • Customer Services experience
