About Opportunity

As a Service Technician, you'll play a critical role supporting customers by providing hands-on technical expertise, refractory installation support, equipment maintenance, inspections, and field service solutions. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of industrial customers while supporting critical plant operations and refractory projects.

What You'll Do

• Practice Safety Skills Daily. 

• Manage refractory products including inventory, installation and monitoring performance.  

• Support refractory installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair activities at customer locations. 

• Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and layouts to ensure accurate installation and maintenance activities.  

• Conduct product audits and investigations when required. 

• Utilize precision measuring equipment, scanners, thermal imaging cameras, and related diagnostic tools.  

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and tools. 

• Maintain accurate documentation, expense reports, and project records while representing RHI Magnesita professionally.  

What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial field service, refractories, steel, or non-ferrous metals environments.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including travel within Canada and to the United States for business purposes.
• Experience with refractory installation, bricklaying, welding, forming, pouring, shotcrete, or gunning applications is considered an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Experience operating forklifts, aerial work platforms, and other industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver's licence required.
• Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills. French language skills are an asset.
• Working knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations; relevant safety certifications are considered an asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic reporting systems is preferred.
• Customer-focused approach with the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Ability to work flexible schedules and perform physically demanding work in industrial environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (23 kg), climb ladders, work at heights, and perform tasks in confined spaces.
• Professional demeanor with a commitment to safety, quality, and customer service excellence.
