Site Coordinator
About the opportunity:
The Site Coordinator is responsible for executing inventory control activities at our customer site in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This includes conducting physical counts, maintaining a web‑based inventory control system, and completing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual updates. The role supports refractory business initiatives, including trials, reporting, and developing systems to track refractory life, wear, and consumption. The Site Coordinator will build strong working relationships with the refractory crew, plant personnel, plant management, and internal stakeholders.

Essential Job Requirements:
- Coordinate daily logistics of refractory materials.
- Support refractory application and inventory housekeeping for RHI Magnesita products on site, including daily inventory counts.
- Advise the refractory crew during refractory usage; identify and report refractory quality or application issues.
- Maintain an understanding of the steelmaking process and adhere to all plant safety requirements.
- Manage inventory at the customer site in alignment with annual financial targets for invoicing and receivables.
- Collect and analyze monthly KPI data and support follow‑up actions.
- Assist in generating the quarterly CPP Results Meeting Report and participate in presentations and discussions.
- Coordinate inbound logistics and demand planning for RHI Magnesita products using designated tools and systems.
- Prepare and distribute reports on melt shop performance (weekly consumption, month‑end CPP usage).
- Utilize Microsoft Office, SAP, Scope, CRM, CPP tools, and QMOS.
- Enter new sales opportunities into CRM.
- Maintain accurate consumption forecasts in the Scope Forecast System.
- Update the CPP tool with actuals, goals, consumption, and action items.
- Participate in customer continuous improvement meetings.
- Engage in ongoing learning and continuous improvement to support future growth opportunities.
About you:
Education and/or Experience
Required
- 3+ years of technical experience, preferably in melt shop operations or refractory ceramics.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply inventory control processes and standards.
- Experience working in heavy industrial settings with strong adherence to safety practices
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of customers and cross-functional teams
- Self‑starter who works independently while contributing to team objectives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP/CRM systems
Preferred
- Leadership or team coordination experience
- Experience in melt shop operations, steel manufacturing, or refractory ceramics
- SAP experience or familiarity with similar enterprise systems
- Experience performing minor mechanical repairs or troubleshooting

- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Strong safety mindset and familiarity with industrial safety standards
- Ability to track, analyze, and communicate operational and inventory data

- Ability to learn new systems, processes, and technical concepts quickly
- Flexibility to support on-call requirements, overtime, and trial participation as needed
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle
Preferred
- Steel industry or refractory product knowledge
- Experience performing mechanical maintenance or troubleshooting
- Advanced Excel or data analysis skills
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems for reporting and operational analysis
- Adaptable, solutions-oriented mindset with continuous improvement focus
- Flexibility to support on‑call, overtime, and trial participation as required.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including helmet with chin strap, vest, gloves, safety glasses, and steel‑toed boots.
- Ability to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands for computer and equipment operation.
- Ability to reach, stoop, and kneel as required.
- Ability to perform light to moderate lifting.
Working Environment
Work is performed in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment with high noise levels and exposure to operational equipment.
