Student Service Technician
On-site | Hamilton, Ontario | Full-Time | January 2027
CAD $22.00 - $28.00 per hour, based on education, experience, and qualifications.
About Opportunity
As an On-Site Coordinator / Service Technician Intern, you will support field service operations at customer sites through project coordination, inspections, troubleshooting, and technical support activities. This hands-on role offers exposure to industrial operations, maintenance, customer relations, and problem-solving while working closely with customers, contractors, and internal teams in a safe and dynamic environment.
What You'll Do
- Practice safety skills daily and follow all company and customer site safety requirements.
- Assist with coordinating field service activities, maintenance projects, and customer site visits.
- Support product installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair activities at customer locations.
- Conduct site inspections, collect operational data, and monitor product performance.
- Assist with troubleshooting technical and operational issues and participate in root cause investigations.
- Utilize measuring devices, thermal imaging cameras, scanners, and other diagnostic tools as required.
- Support inventory management, material tracking, and equipment organization.
- Prepare service reports, project documentation, expense reports, and project updates.
- Coordinate communication between customers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Represent the company professionally while building strong customer relationships.
What You'll Bring
- Currently enrolled in a Co-op or Internship program in Engineering, Materials Technology, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Strong interest in industrial operations, manufacturing, field service, maintenance, or project coordination.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical and hands-on tasks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation is an asset.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in industrial environments, wear required PPE, lift up to 50 lbs. (23 kg), climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces when required.
- Bilingualism (English/French) and previous industrial, manufacturing, construction, or maintenance experience are considered assets.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and customer service excellence.
