About the job
We are looking for a Project Specialist for our Digital Transformation department to support our team in leading transformational projects and project teams across regions and business functions. You will be supporting in driving the project’s lifecycle from planning, and implementation to closure. This can include the preparation of relevant project documentation (timeline, budget, resource planning...) as well as the follow-up on the project progress with the project teams in individual meetings as well as project update calls. You will be working in a diverse, dynamic and performance-driven team with a good team spirit and humor. As a Project Specialist in our team, you will build up your own project management experience, gain a broad network across functions within our company and become acquainted with RHI Magnesita’s business and the refractory industry.
In addition, your tasks will include
- Own and run the daily and weekly delivery rhythm: agendas, actions, dependencies, follow-ups, and decision tracking.
- Actively chase owners, clarify ambiguities, and close gaps — no passive waiting.
- Coordinate activities across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, and HR interfaces (as needed), across multiple geographies.
- Escalate blockers early and decisively; propose concrete recovery actions.
- Track delivery against scope, timeline, cost, benefits, and quality using clear, practical KPIs.
- Ensure the process has: Clear acceptance criteria, Named actions owners, validators and approvers, Defined evidence expectations and tracking
- Actively follow up on validations, chase evidence, and prevent backlog accumulation.
- Maintain a clean flow from executed → validated → signed off → closed, calling out risks immediately when this breaks.
- Coordinate readiness activities hands-on across the Americas.
- Track cross-system and business dependencies (finance close, payroll, inventory, critical operations).
- Ensure readiness decisions are made based on facts, criteria, and scenarios — not optimism.
- Run RAID actively: update, challenge, escalate, follow-up mitigation actions and close.
- Lead defect and issue triage sessions; drive owners to resolution and retest.
- Engage senior stakeholders directly to unblock decisions, not just inform them.
- Stay close to data readiness topics that threaten execution.
- Surface data risks early and help coordinate fast resolution.

With your hands-on mentality, structured approach and analytical skills, you proactively seek to improve the status quo. You see change as something positive, can adapt quickly and you like to courageously help shaping the future of RHI Magnesita.You are not shying away from proactively reaching out to internal and external project members and of being in the “front row”, facilitating meetings and pushing for progress and results.
What we expect from you in terms of
Education
- A bachelor’s degree in business management/administration, IT, finance or similar
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Languages
- English – Proficient/Fluent
- Any other language is considered as an asset
Work Experience
- Demonstrated ability to operate in the detail while keeping the big picture.
- Strong hands-on experience working with IT teams, different suppliers and system integrators.
