About the job

We are looking for a Research Specialist to serve as the primary liaison between the Research & Development, Manufacturing, and Raw Materials Sales teams, with global technical responsibility.

In addition, your tasks will include

• Act as a strategic liaison between the R&D, manufacturing, and raw materials sales teams, ensuring technical alignment across all functions.
• Serve as the technical reference for the sales team, supporting commercial decisions with specialized product knowledge.
• Develop and maintain the global governance of raw material specifications and technical data sheets.
• Consolidate and analyze product quality data, providing insights to support both technical and commercial decision-making.
• Lead the governance process for customer samples submitted for new product development initiatives.
• Actively participate in the development of new markets and customers for mineral products.
• Conduct technical visits to manufacturing plants, storage facilities, shipping operations, and customer sites.
• Be available for frequent travel to Brumado, Bahia, with responsibilities of a global scope.

About You

You are passionate about innovation, developing new technologies and sustainable processes to contribute to RHIM. You love to have active part on lab and field trials, always looking for technical knowledge and ideas from many different sources. You are a team player keen to self-develop working in collaboration with colleagues from different departments and regions. You are motivated by interacting with start-ups and universities across the globe. You have a great perception for details but still see them in a larger context. You are keen to be actively involved in shaping the future of RHI Magnesita.

In addition, you have:

• Bachelor in engineering.
• Professional experience in research or process development for mining operations.
• Master or Doctorate is an advantage.
• Ability to manage projects independently, taking care over an extensive portfolio.
• Fluent English and Portuguese.
• Intercultural work experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge on innovation agile methods is an advantage.
• Experience working on mineral processing plants is an advantage.
