Your position
As a Global Trainee – Recycling, reporting to Head of Recycling China & East Asia, you will contribute to shaping the future of sustainable practices at RHI Magnesita.
In this role, you will:
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to recycling and sustainability
- Understand end-to-end processes of the recycling value chain — from sourcing of materials, processing, and technology development to promoting recycled-content products on the market
- Support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives across multiple business units and geographies
- Collaborate with teams across functions to drive alignment and execution:
- Work closely with the Sales team to build integrated customer solutions with a sustainability approach
- Collaborate with Operations and R&D to innovate and improve recycling processes and technologies
- Collaborate with regional teams to understand local market dynamics and assist in adapting global strategies to regional requirements
Your tasks
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, industry benchmarks, and competitor strategies in the recycling industry
- Analyse data to assess market potential, develop market entry strategies, and evaluate new business opportunities of new circular raw materials
- Conduct thorough analyses of recycling performance metrics, monitor industry trends, and gather market intelligence to identify business growth opportunities and stay ahead of competitors
- Support the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of strategic initiatives, providing regular updates to management and suggesting improvements
- Assist in the preparation of business cases, financial models, and presentations for senior leadership evaluations and decision-making
- Support R&D in lab trials to find new applications for circular raw materials
Your profile
You are eager to contribute to innovative recycling solutions with a proactive and analytical mindset, ready to work across diverse, fast-paced environments.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, major preferably in Materials Science, a Refractory-related field, Metallurgy, Chemistry,
or Business Administration with experience in a technical industry - Previous professional experience or internship
- Eager to take initiative and drive projects forward
- Pragmatic problem-solver and strong communicator
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data
- Agile, open-minded, and embracing change
- Thrives in diverse, fast-paced, global environments
- Proactive mindset and ability to work independently as well as within cross-functional teams
Languages:
Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken and written). Additional language knowledge is appreciated.
Nice to have:
- Prior experience or internships in Sustainability, Sales, or Business development is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AI tools and data analysis tools.

The hiring process for the Global Trainee Program 2025 takes place between April - July 2025, with multiple stages including CV screening, interviews, a personality questionnaire, and an assessment centre. Successful candidates will receive their offers between June - July and start their positions in September 2025.
