About the Role
We are looking for a skilled OT Cybersecurity Specialist to enhance the security posture of our Operational Technology (OT) and production IT environments. In this role, you will work closely with plant engineers, IT teams, and cybersecurity professionals to ensure that security best practices are integrated into production environments. You will also support projects from an InfoSec perspective, ensuring compliance with security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Option 1: OT/Industrial Automation Focus
- Experience in automation engineering or maintenance with exposure to PLCs, SCADA, MES, DCS.
- Experience with Vulnerability Management in OT, Designing secure OT Environments and implementing OT Security improvements
Option 2: Cybersecurity with OT Knowledge
- Experience in IT security, network security, or industrial cybersecurity.
- Understanding of OT environments and security challenges in manufacturing, energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Technology Security
• Assess and mitigate cybersecurity risks in industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, PLCs, and production IT networks.
• Develop and implement security measures to protect production environments from cyber threats.
• Define network segmentation and access control strategies in collaboration with plant engineers and IT teams.
• Support incident detection and response for OT security events, working with IT security teams and local engineering staff.
Collaboration with Local Engineers & IT Teams
• Act as the bridge between InfoSec and OT teams, ensuring security requirements align with operational needs.
• Provide guidance on securing legacy OT systems and integrating modern security technologies.
• Work closely with plant managers and automation engineers to implement cybersecurity best practices without disrupting production processes.
• Conduct security training and awareness sessions for OT personnel.
IT Security Support for Projects
• Support new IT and OT infrastructure projects by integrating security from the design phase.
• Conduct security assessments and reviews for new deployments in production IT environments.
• Ensure compliance with NIST CSF, IEC 62443, ISO 27001, and other relevant standards.
• Work with vendors and service providers to ensure security is built into industrial systems.
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations and internal security policies for production IT.
• Participate in risk assessments, audits, and vulnerability management programs for OT environments.
• Maintain documentation of security controls, policies, and incident reports.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Electrical Engineering or a related field, alternatively also similar level of qualification obtained through other means of education.
• 3+ years of experience in IT security, industrial cybersecurity, IT operations, Automation engineering / maintenance or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of ICS/SCADA security, network security, and industrial protocols (e.g., OPC, Modbus, Profinet, BACnet, etc.).
• Experience with network segmentation and firewalls for OT environments.
• Familiarity with IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, and other OT security frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate with global cross-functional teams, including IT, InfoSec, and plant engineers.
• Hands-on experience with risk assessments, penetration testing, and security audits in OT environments is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, risk-based approach to security.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
