People & Culture Experienced Trainee
Dalian - MGG
About the Role
We are looking for an internationally minded, high-potential professional to join our 24-month People & Culture development program.
This is an accelerated development opportunity designed for experienced hires. No specific academic discipline is required, and candidates are not expected to come from a traditional HR background. We explicitly welcome applicants from STEM, data analytics, engineering, information systems, consulting, business analysis, talent acquisition and other professional fields.
You will begin by developing an integrated understanding of P&C processes, policies, documentation, data and HRIS workflows. Through cross-functional projects, practical AI applications, business exposure and management communication, you will progressively build broad-based P&C capability.
We expect you to transfer the experience, structured thinking and digital capability developed in your previous career into a P&C environment and develop, over 24 months, toward broader independent HR responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
P&C Processes and Operating Model
- Review and continuously improve P&C management processes, policies, SOPs, forms, internal documentation and HRIS workflows;
- Establish clear connections between processes, policies, systems, data and process ownership;
- Identify process gaps, duplication, manual activities, unclear accountability and potential risks;
- Partner with P&C, business and other functional stakeholders to improve process standardization, digitalization and effectiveness;
- Track stakeholder adoption and ensure that improvement projects translate into sustained implementation.
P&C Projects and AI Application
- Participate in HRIS, workflow, people analytics and other cross-functional P&C projects;
- Apply AI, automation and digital tools to improve the quality and efficiency of research, analysis, processes and professional deliverables;
- Translate complex or ambiguous issues into clear objectives, analytical frameworks, action plans and deliverables;
- Validate AI- and technology-generated outputs, with appropriate attention to data quality, privacy, information security and human oversight;
- Evaluate the practical improvement created by digital tools rather than focusing only on technical features.
Analytics and Professional Communication
- Collect, structure and analyze people, organization and relevant business data;
- Identify trends, risks and opportunities through data and process analysis;
- Translate complex information into clear, concise, professional and decision-oriented materials;
- Adapt communication to the needs of different audiences and stakeholder levels;
- Support talent reviews, executive recruitment, organizational analysis and other priority P&C initiatives.
P&C and Business Capability Development
- Build a structured foundation across employee relations, compensation, recruitment, learning and development, talent management and other P&C disciplines;
- Participate progressively in business meetings, talent discussions and organizational topics under the guidance of an experienced mentor;
- Develop an understanding of the relationship between the business model, operating priorities, organizational capability and talent requirements;
- Collaborate across P&C specialist areas to translate business needs into appropriate people and organization actions;
- Take on increasingly complex projects, talent topics or business-support responsibilities as capability develops;
- Build independent and professional P&C judgment while supporting business priorities.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Typically three or more years of full-time professional experience;
- Overseas education, international work experience or other meaningful cross-cultural exposure;
- Bachelor’s degree or above in any discipline;
- Strong Chinese and professional working English;
- Evidence of independently owning a project, workstream or process and delivering an actual outcome;
- Strong structured-thinking, problem-solving and information-synthesis capabilities;
- Proficiency in using AI tools, supported by at least one concrete example of applying AI in a real work context;
- The ability to validate AI-enabled outputs and an understanding of data privacy, information security and responsible use;
- Willingness to build P&C expertise from foundational process, policy, documentation, data and system work;
- A credible and sustained interest in building a long-term career in People & Culture.
Attributes We Value
- High learning agility and the ability to develop a systemic understanding of unfamiliar subjects quickly;
- Genuine curiosity about emerging technology, AI, business change and organizational development;
- A grounded, practical and detail-conscious approach to work;

- Calm confidence and maturity when engaging with senior leaders;
- The ability to form an independent point of view while listening carefully and adjusting conclusions based on evidence;
