Quality Technician

RHI Magnesita is looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Quality Control Technician to join our East Canton team. In this role, you’ll be on the front lines of quality—testing, inspecting, and verifying the materials that power some of the world’s most demanding industrial environments. This is a full-time, on-site position with a standard shift of 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Flexibility is required for any 8-hour shift between 5:00 AM and 5:00 PM. While hours may shift based on operational needs, we expect them to remain consistent for the first six months.

What You’ll Do

• Perform physical and chemical testing on refractory materials like bricks, mortars, and castables
• Run tests such as compressive strength, porosity, and density to ensure materials meet internal and external specs
• Inspect products throughout the production process to catch issues early and maintain high standards
• Document test results, inspection findings, and quality reports with accuracy and clarity
• Identify and report nonconformances, assist in root cause investigations, and help implement corrective actions
• Keep testing equipment calibrated and in good working order
• Collaborate with production and procurement teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes
• Support training efforts to help production staff understand and meet quality expectations

• Comfort working in high-temperature environments and lifting materials as needed
• Flexibility to work shifts or overtime when production demands it
