Your position
As Head of Electrical & Fluid Technologies, you lead a key skill pool within RHI Magnesita Switzerland’s reshaped organization. Your team provides essential competencies in electrical engineering, hardware planning, and hydraulic systems & fluid technology for slide gate product platforms, machinery, and customer-specific solutions.
The role combines technical leadership, people development, and transformation ownership. It ensures that capabilities in electrical design, hardware engineering, CAD-based documentation, hydraulic aggregates, control elements, and actuator systems are available, standardized, and continuously developed in line with future business needs.
The skill pool acts as an important enabler for reliable, safe, and reproducible industrial solutions. It supports the transition from customized project engineering to modular, scalable, and ecosystem-ready product platforms by establishing robust standards, clear documentation, and industrialized solutions for internal and external reproduction.
Your tasks
- Planning, prioritizing and coordinating work packages to ensure transparency on capacity, priorities and deliverables
- Leading, developing and managing performance of your team, including regular feedback, coaching and development
- Supporting the team operationally where needed, while maintaining focus on leadership, capability building and continuous improvement
- Owning technical standards, system architectures, CAD and engineering systems as well as engineering methods within your scope
- Driving standardization and modularization of electrical and fluid designs, hardware architecture, control cabinet layouts and technical documentation
- Developing and improving hydraulic systems, including hydraulic power units, control elements, actuators and cylinder applications
- Ensuring systems meet requirements for safety, reliability, maintainability, reproducibility and cost competitiveness
- Collaborating cross-functionally and overseeing product lifecycle activities from development through validation to series readiness
Your profile
- Degree in electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, fluid technology or a comparable field
- Proven leadership experience in a technical engineering or industrial product development environment
- Relevant professional experience in machinery, plant engineering, automation, heavy industry or hydraulic systems environments
- Strong expertise in electrical design, hardware planning, control cabinet engineering and industrial component selection
- Experience with CAD and engineering systems for electrical design, hardware documentation and technical drawings
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, including power units, valves, control elements, actuators and cylinder applications
- Good understanding of machine safety, industrial standards, commissioning and product industrialization
- Structured and collaborative working style with strong communication skills; up to 25% travel required
Languages: German – fluent, English – fluent
Nice to have: Further education in engineering, leadership or project management; experience with SAP/ERP/PLM systems; supplier and partner collaboration; knowledge of CE and safety standards; familiarity with modular architectures and stage-gate processes; experience in prototyping, commissioning and series production
