Regional Head of Finance NAM
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Planning
▪ Work in partnership with the Regional President, Regional Leadership Team, RHIM Group
Functions and the Executive Management Team to drive the growth and performance of the
business. Contribute to the strategic direction of the overall business as a key member of the
Regional Leadership Team and RHIM Global Finance Leadership Team.
▪ The role brings together FP&A and Financial Reporting and will play a supportive role on
Compliance/Risk. Functions such as Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit and Investor Relations are
managed at the center, with fully accountability at the center.
▪ Co-ordinate the planning process, incorporating financial planning for acquisitions and regional
expansion plans. Assess and fully understand the financial requirements of these plans and
communicate these clearly to the Regional Leadership, RHIM Group, and the Executive
Management Team, global and local investors.
▪ Review the business cases for any major regional investment decisions considering the overall
RHIM group strategy.
Financial Reporting
▪ Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting in cooperation with
Integrated Business Services team and ensure compliance with any relevant reporting
standards.
▪ Report regional financial results and output to the RHIM Group and the Audit Committee
ensuring a good level of interaction with both the Audit Chair and Committee itself.
▪ Implement processes, Group systems and procedures to guarantee the coherence, relevance,
and reliability of management information flows and financial flows in line with the Group's
Standards.
Financial Analysis & Performance
▪ Maintain and develop the Region’s business model for generating value and translate the
operational metrics into key performance indicators.
▪ Clearly articulate/challenge the business performance and working with the Regional President
/ CEO and Regional Leadership team, drive the business performance.
▪ Highlight BU risks and opportunities Regional President / CEO and Regional Leadership team
and optimize solutions to his/her Management Committee.
Budgeting & Expense Control
▪ Oversee the budget process, collecting the inputs, and comparing the company’s actual
performance against the budgeted targets.
Corporate Relationships
▪ Establish and maintain strong relationships with the Group’s relationship banks, investment
banks, corporate finance advisors, audit partners, tax advisors, insurance brokers and lawyers.
Tax, Treasury & Capital Markets
▪ In cooperation with Integrated Business Services team ensure adequate financial resources to
fund the Regional businesses’ investment proposals within the constraints of sound financial
management.
▪ In cooperation with RHIM Group Treasury, ensure cash is optimally managed, along with the
treasury implications of multi-currency operations across the Region and RHIM Group.
▪ In cooperation with the RHIM Group Tax Function, Optimize the Group’s tax charge while
adopting a low-risk stance.
Company Liabilities & Financial Obligations
▪ Understand the Regions’ liabilities e.g., leases, insurance summaries, expectations from loan
covenants.
▪ Approve key agreements concerning financial obligations, such as commercial contracts, IT
assets, and services, and other actions requiring a commitment of financial resources.
Coaching and Team Development
▪ Ensure the finance organization is commensurate with the needs of the business and is able
to support the Region’s growth plan.
▪ Ensure that all members of the Regional Finance team are competent to carry out their role by
providing training for them, setting development plans with them, or providing them with
coaching, to help improve their overall performance.
▪ Build an environment of continuous improvement in all aspects.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
▪ Proven experience as a successful business partner working closely with a CEO or Divisional
President to drive business performance, preferably within a global manufacturing / industrial
goods / process industry.
▪ Experience in FP&A with proven success driving Plant and Sales performance
▪ Experience operating at a senior level within a global manufacturing / industrial goods / process
industry. Candidates must have a track record of financial management within a capitalintensive
industrial’s environment.
▪ Experience working in a matrix organization with colleagues in a regional and group function
role
▪ Well-rounded suite of financial skills including experience of capital raising, treasury and IFRS
accounting.
▪ A demonstrable track record of driving results, with a particular focus on cash flow performance.
A private equity mindset, or prior experience of working in a PE backed business would be
considered advantageous.
▪ Experience operating in an international environment and the ability to take a broad global view.
▪ Experience of developing people, systems, and processes to create a high calibre finance
function that provides high quality business support.
▪ Experiences in driving changes in systems/process/data
▪ (4) year bachelor’s degree, with an MBA preferred, along with a relevant professional
qualification (i.e., ACA, ACMA, CPA).
▪ Experience with reporting for Canada, Mexico, and the USA.
▪ Experience with SAP is preferred, but not required.
