About the opportunity

The HSE Professional will partner with all areas of our organization to lead critical projects and initiatives for the region. As part of a multifunctional team, the successful candidate will work closely with plant teams and leadership to develop new insightful solutions to daily issues and mitigate risk.

Your tasks will include:

  • Ensure employees are properly wearing their personal protective equipment
  • Create and update SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and JSA (Job Safety Analysis)
  • Work with vendors to provide additional training as needed, ex. Crane Training
  • Daily reports as needed, safe work permits, lock out tag out
  • Incident reporting on both the customer system and the RHIM system
  • Ensure Daily Equipment Inspections are completed
  • Safety (Roxtra) document management
  • Be comfortable working in a plant, OSHA environment
  • HSE training, record development and management
  • Updating safety documents to the proper format
  • Assist the HSE personnel in completion of reporting requirements as defined by the regulatory authorities
  • Development, revision and evaluation of effectiveness of HSE policies, procedures and training materials
  • Development and conducting of contractor safety inductions, and employee onboarding process as it relates to HSE
  • Conduct safety meetings
  • Creation of high impact, high quality training materials in conjunction with the HSE team
  • Assist in the development of tools that ensure compliance of all applicable local regulations, laws, acts, etc.
  • Assist in the follow-up related to HSE IMS audits
  • Completion of administrative tasks for the HSE department as assigned
  • Assist the HSE team with duties in the plant environment, duties may include taking samples, collecting documentation and other duties as assigned by HSE personnel

 

About you:

In addition, you have:

  • OSHA 500 outreach trainer certification
  • 5-7 years of experience in HSE type role in industrial environment
  • Comfortable in dealing with stakeholders from all levels
  • Independent worker and self-starter, who contributes to the overall team objectives
  • Steel Experience, preferred
  • Refractory installation experience a plus
  • First Aid / CPR Certified
