Information Technology (IT) Intern - Summer 2027

As an Information Technology (IT) Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the technology that keeps a global manufacturing organization running. What You'll Do

  • Provide first-level technical support for employees across the York facility.
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for IT support requests, helping to triage and resolve issues or route them appropriately.
  • Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software, printer, mobile device, and network connectivity issues.
  • Support the setup, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of computers and technology equipment.
  • Help manage user accounts, password resets, permissions, and access requests.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventories, hardware records, and software licensing information.
  • Participate in hardware upgrades, equipment deployments, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Support IT projects involving infrastructure, systems, and business applications.
  • Assist with testing, implementation, and documentation of new technologies and processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance user experience, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Follow cybersecurity and data protection best practices and support compliance-related initiatives.

 

What You Bring

 

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, networking, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Windows operating systems and Microsoft technologies.
  • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems or technical support environments.
  • Exposure to networking concepts, cybersecurity fundamentals, or system administration.
  • Previous internship, academic project, campus organization, or other technology-related experience.
