Assistant Project Manager (all genders)

Fixed contract for 24 months with possibility for permanent hire

Your position

As Assistant Project Manager, you will support and coordinate innovative initiatives focused on CO₂ mineralization. You will work closely with feedstock providers, supporting materials characterization and collaborating with the Innovation Team to optimize processes using advanced spectroscopic methods. You will coordinate and interpret results from international partners, ensuring accurate classification of product streams and high-purity outputs, including magnesium carbonate and silicates for the cement industry. In addition, you will engage with downstream partners and customers, translating technical requirements into practical solutions. In this role, you will travel for up to 15–20% of your time to project partners, including Australia, China and Turkey, with more frequent visits within the DACH region.

Your tasks

• Managing and coordinating daily operations and reporting for international research projects (e.g. FFG-funded projects with academic partners)
• Acting as an interface between the Mineral Sales Team, Innovation Team and external project partners to support project activities and explore new markets
• Characterizing feedstock and supporting the optimization of sorting and processing approaches together with the Innovation Team
• Consolidating, interpreting and communicating results across project partners and internal stakeholders
• Supporting partner and customer interactions by capturing technical requirements and contributing to product development, including the classification of product streams (e.g. magnesium carbonate and silicates)

Your profile

• Degree in Chemistry or Mineralogy
• Ideal for early-career professionals, recent graduates or junior researchers with initial project or research experience
• Strong analytical mindset combined with a structured, hands-on and self-driven way of working, as well as willingness to travel internationally
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions and with external partners

Languages: English – proficient, German – considered an asset

The annual gross salary for this full-time position is €55,000.00, with a competitive package based on qualifications, experience, and market values.
