Marketing & Solutions Specialist - Flow Control

Fully Remote

We are seeking a customer‑focused Marketing & Solutions Specialist to support the Flow Control / continuous casting process within steelmaking. This role requires up to 50% travel, primarily within the Southeastern United States.

 

In this position, you will work closely with customers, Sales, and internal technical teams to ensure refractory products and systems are applied effectively, deliver consistent performance, and help customers continuously improve their operations. The role combines hands‑on technical support, collaborative problem‑solving, and market‑driven solutions in a dynamic industrial environment.

 

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Act as a key technical partner between customers, Sales, Product Management, R&D, and Operations
  • Support customer accounts by selecting and recommending flow control refractory products and system solutions based on site‑specific practices and requirements
  • Spend time on site with customers, monitoring product performance, supporting startups and trials, and addressing technical questions or concerns
  • Support and monitor service trials, including troubleshooting, fact‑finding, and performance follow‑up
  • Prepare clear and concise trial and visit reports outlining results, findings, and recommendations
  • Partner with Sales during customer visits to ensure our solutions deliver measurable value
  • Provide hands‑on training to internal teams and customer personnel on proper product installation and application
  • Identify opportunities to introduce new technologies and innovative solutions at customer sites
  • Share customer feedback, performance insights, and improvement opportunities with internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate internally to support product portfolio improvements and market rollout initiatives

 

 

What You Bring

 

  • 2–5+ years of experience in the steel and/or refractory industry
  • Working knowledge of continuous casting practices, with flow control or tundish experience preferred
  • Experience working in heavy industrial plant environments
  • Hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges
  • Strong relationship‑building skills and comfort working with customers at all organizational levels
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to shared team goals
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (preferred)
  • Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with SAP or CAD drawings is a plus
  • Willingness to travel and work in loud, industrial environments
