About the Opportunity
The Site Coordinator is responsible for the execution of Inventory Control through physical counts and maintaining a web‑based inventory control system with weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual updates. This role actively participates in refractory business opportunities, including trials and developing reports. The Site Coordinator will also develop systems to track and analyze refractory life, wear, and consumption, while building strong working relationships with refractory crews, plant personnel, plant management, and internal stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate daily logistics of refractory materials
- Support refractory application and inventory housekeeping of RHI Magnesita products on site, including daily inventory counts
- Advise the refractory crew during use, identifying and reporting refractory quality or application issues
- Understand steelmaking processes and all plant safety requirements
- Manage inventory at the customer site according to annual financial targets for invoicing and receivables to meet SG&A and working capital goals
- Lead monthly KPI data collection, analysis, and follow‑up
- Assist in generating quarterly CPP Results Meeting Reports and participate in presentations and discussions
- Coordinate inbound logistics and demand planning using designated tools
- Populate and distribute reports covering the latest melt shop performance (weekly consumption, month‑end CPP usage, etc.)
- Utilize Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SAP, Scope, CRM, CPP tools, and QMOS
- Populate CRM with new sales opportunities
- Populate Scope Forecast System with accurate consumption forecasts
- Maintain and update CPP tools with actuals, goals, consumption, and action plans
- Participate in customer continuous improvement meetings
- Learn additional activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to support future promotion opportunities
About You
Education and Experience
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- 3+ years of technical experience, preferably with melt shops or refractory ceramics
- Strong ability to learn inventory control processes and standards
- Familiarity with heavy industrial environments and safety standards
- Comfortable interacting with customers at all levels
- Independent, self‑directed worker who supports team goals
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP/CRM/CPP/QMOS or similar systems
- Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs is beneficial
Knowledge, Skills, and General Abilities
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Steel industry knowledge is a plus
- Strong data tracking, analysis, and reporting abilities
- Ability to perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and read electrical plans
- Safety‑focused mindset suitable for heavy industrial environments
- Hands‑on, forward‑thinking, and results‑driven work style
- Open‑minded toward new refractory opportunities and problem‑solving approaches
- Strong collaborative skills with clear written and verbal communication
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel
- Ability to learn ERP, MRP, CRM, CPP, QMOS, or similar systems
- SAP knowledge is a plus
- Willing and eager learner with flexibility for on‑call, overtime, and trial participation
- Supportive of team members and customers as required
- Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle
- Ability to learn inventory control processes and adhere to standards
Physical Requirements
- Must wear PPE when required, including helmet with chin strap, vest, gloves, glasses, and steel‑toed boots
- Must be able to stand, sit, talk, hear, use hands/fingers, reach, stoop, and kneel
- Light to moderate lifting required
Working Environment
- Very loud plant environment (heavy industrial manufacturing equipment)
