Your role

As Payroll Manager EMEA, based in Oviedo, Spain, you will play a key role in managing and developing payroll operations across countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. You will ensure accurate, timely and compliant payroll delivery across a complex regional landscape, with clear ownership of regional payroll service delivery and the governance of outsourced payroll providers. You will work closely with local teams, internal stakeholders and external payroll partners to drive operational excellence, compliance, employee experience and continuous improvement.

This role is part of an ongoing payroll transformation project. You will support the implementation of new ways of working, contribute to regional standardisation and simplification, and help drive a more harmonised, digital and well-governed payroll model across EMEA, including the effective transition, implementation and stabilisation of outsourced payroll services where applicable.

 

Your tasks

  • Ensuring accurate, timely and compliant payroll delivery across countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa
  • Supporting the regional payroll transformation project, including process standardisation, system changes and implementation of new operating principles
  • Providing payroll expertise and guidance on regional payroll processes, compliance requirements and country-specific operational topics
  • Owning outsourced payroll service delivery for the region, including provider governance, service reviews, SLA/KPI monitoring and performance management
  • Managing escalations with payroll providers, leading root-cause analysis and ensuring corrective actions are implemented to improve accuracy, timeliness, compliance and employee experience

Your profile

  • Several years of experience in payroll operations or payroll leadership, ideally in a regional, international, shared services or outsourced payroll service delivery environment
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, governance and compliance requirements across multiple countries; EMEA experience is an advantage
  • Experience with payroll systems and payroll transformation projects; SAP HCM or Workday knowledge is an advantage
  • Proven experience governing external payroll providers, including SLA/KPI management, service reviews, escalation management and continuous improvement
  • Experience with payroll outsourcing transitions, provider implementations or regional/global country migrations is highly desirable
  • Transformation mindset, with the ability to work in a project environment, challenge existing processes and implement new tools and ways of working
  • Strong stakeholder management, analytical thinking, adaptability and ability to operate in a multicultural environment

Languages: English – fluent; Spanish and/or other European languages are an advantage

Mandatory certifications: Payroll-related certification or equivalent professional experience is preferred

Nice to have: Experience leading payroll outsourcing or regional/global payroll service delivery models, including international payroll providers, shared services operations, payroll governance or regional payroll transformation projects
