Quality Lead

The Quality Lead at our Saybrook isostatic refractories plant plays a critical role in driving product consistency, overseeing the ISO 9001 quality management system, and collaborating across departments to resolve plant-wide issues. Reporting to the Quality and Technical Manager for multiple sites, this role leads a team of technicians and contributes to strategic decisions that shape the future of the Saybrook Plant.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure all work aligns with company safety protocols and regulatory standards.
• Lead and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 systems.
• Conduct internal audits and coordinate external certification processes.
• Analyze process data to identify trends and minimize product variation.
• Partner with production, technical, and customer-facing teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Supervise and mentor quality technicians, fostering a culture of accountability.
• Report on key quality metrics and support strategic plant initiatives.

What You Bring

• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or quality assurance, ideally within isostatic or pressed refractories.
• Proven experience with ISO systems, statistical process control, and CAPA.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership capabilities.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office and quality software tools.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
