Your position

As a Financial Reporting Mexico Specialist, you will report directly to the Head of Finance and Reporting Mexico for the LATAM region and play an integral role in the team. You will:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of best practices in Finance and Reporting.
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements and regulatory reports, in compliance with applicable accounting frameworks (e.g. IFRS, local GAAP), ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all submissions.
  • Analysis of new accounting standards, reporting requirements, and regulatory changes, evaluating their impact on existing operations and new business transactions.
  • Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet analysis, including detailed variance analysis to support disclosures, footnotes, and management commentary in financial reports.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders or external vendors in the preparation and validation of reports, ensuring alignment with internal controls and governance policies
  • Monitoring internal controls and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Lead the audit processes (internal and external), providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries related to statutory or financial reports.
  • Partnering with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Operations to ensure aligned and consistent financial data across reporting streams.
  • Participating in finance transformation projects, including system upgrades, automation initiatives, and reporting standardization.

 

Your profile

With a hands-on mentality, structured approach, and sharp analytical skills, you want to challenge and improve the status quo.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (Master’s or MBA is a plus)
  • Previous professional experience
  • Fluent in SPANISH and ENGLISH - Portuguese is a big plus
  • The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong analytical capabilities and a critical mindset to challenge data, improve processes, and ensure the highest standards in financial reporting.
  • Education and Professional Background:
  • Minimum of 6–8 years of experience, with at least part of it in a Big Four
  • Proven experience with statutory financial reporting
  • Solid understanding of internal controls, audit procedures, and corporate compliance

Technical and Core Competencies

  • Strong accounting and auditing knowledge, with the ability to interpret and apply complex standards
  • Highly analytical, with attention to detail and the ability to review and challenge financial data critically
  • Experience in preparation and review of financial statements, variance analysis, and management reports
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
  • Comfortable working with multinational environments and cross-functional teams
  • High level of independence, ownership, and ability to manage deadlines
