Head of Marketing, Solutions and R&D China & East Asia

About the job:

We are seeking a Head of Marketing, Solutions and R&D China & East Asia. This role will report to the Regional President. In this position, you will manage and mentor the regional Marketing, Solutions and R&D team, play a key role in products and solutions development. Leading the team to address clients’ issues in the usage of organizational products and solutions. You will prioritize projects according to our business needs and work closely with regional leadership team and other global stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead the development and implementation of Marketing and R&D strategies for the region. Ownership of short to mid-term strategy execution and operational direction in alignment with global organization objectives;
• Oversee the creation and enhancement of products and solutions to meet client needs. Having a continuing role in customer support to address clients’ issues in the usage of organizational products and solutions.
• Collect and research technical information on suppliers and competitors' products in the market, and provide strategic direction recommendations;
• Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to align strategies and objectives. Communicate progress to management via regular reports as required;
• Ensure projects are prioritized and executed according to business goals. Allocate resources most efficiently to projects and resolve conflicts/capacity bottlenecks;
• Translate market trends, customer requirements and operational needs into refractory design requirements. Develop, test, and upgrade products and solutions; Identify and select materials and formulas suitable for product and solution design;
• Deliver the technology roadmap via successful new product launches and process technology development. Optimize raw material sourcing and utilization, recipes and production process in cooperation with global teams.
• Lead cross-functional product and process development projects, participate on product and process development project teams;
• Manage and mentor a team of Marketing, Solutions and R&D. Ensure and encourage the technical and career development of team members, ensure the team delivers novel product and technology ideas.

What we expect from you in terms of:

1. Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s or above degree in materials science, chemistry, metallurgy, ceramics or refractory related field.
• A MBA, MSc, PhD or any other further qualification related is appreciated.

2. Work Experience:

• 10-15 years of work experience in refractory or related industries
• Proven experience in marketing, product development, or R&D.

3. Language:

• Excellent English language skills, both orally and in writing;
• Fluent in Mandarin or a further language knowledge is appreciated;

4. Skills and Behavioral Competencies:

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem solver and analytical thinker.
• Ability to analyze data and market trends effectively.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Project Management skills

5. Travel

• Frequent travel to customers, suppliers and manufacturing facilities expected;
