JOB DESCRIPTION

 

General Provisions

Position: Sales technical engineer (STE), Iron production industry

Competences

 

Education:  

University Degree. Privilege ONE the following sectors:

 

  • Industrial Engineering;
  • Materials Science – Ceramics and Refractories;
  • Metallurgy.

 

Work experience:

  • 5 years minimum experience in refractory field and refractory application;
  • Experience in leading and managing at least BFs repairs, reheating furnaces, THC trials, runner installations;
  • Experience in international companies.

 

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and excellent ability in communication with customer;
  • Ability to negotiate and to discuss with customer’s managers at different level (from middle-level managers to managing directors (CEO));
  • Advanced knowledge in refractory castable and engineering;
  • Advanced knowledge of refractories in terms of usage and installation;
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs (MS Word, Office, PowerPoint, Outlook or similar).

 

Languages:

  • English, Chines Mandarin

Other:

  • Availability to travel for business trips up to 80% of working time;
  • Availability to follow sales structure;
  • Ability to work in industrial environment (Metallurgical plant i.e.).

 

Essential job functions, responsibilities are:

 

  • Supporting and developing technologies, the tap hole clay, runners, stack and hearth repairs at BF;
  • Organizing technical support in the area of BF;
  • Monitoring the performance of the refractory products in the BF;
  • Perform reporting, analysis of the refractory product performance in the area of BF;
  • Manage trials, installations and usage of the refractory products in BF;
  • Work on innovations to increase the performance of the company refractories solutions;
  • Working out technical offers, approach (timing, lay out) in the area of BF;
  • Preparing of heat transfer and quantity calculations, BOM´s (Bill of material), LOL´s (layout of linings)
  • Building up strong relationships with the technicians of customers and main players on the market;
  • Participating in seminars, meetings, schools, courses on agreement with the manager;
  • Take part in claims working off. Defines the methods and actions of satisfying the claims;
  • Coordinate his activities with R&D manager of the group in the area BF;
  • Cooperation with Managing Directors and Technical mangers for definition of the technical strategies.

    • BUs technical reports for BF;
    • BUs technical offers for BF.
  • Approve technical offers for BF;
  • Choose partners for installation or other cooperation;
  • Request the technical BUs resources to make trials, installations and supervisions;
  • Demand from the BU manager or Company MD fulfilment of the technical solutions made by RHIM;

Communication and interaction with other group structures

 

  • The STE can have a direct communication to a BU technician of any level;
