Supply Chain Management North America, Data Governance and Process Specialist

Fully Remote


The Data Governance & Process Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, governance, and optimization of master data and planning parameters supporting Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Raw Material Planning. Acting as the business owner for SAP process governance, this role drives data quality, process compliance, standardization, and continuous improvement across functions and sites. 
 
The role partners closely with Procurement, Planning, Operations, Finance, IT, Third-Party Suppliers, and Master Data teams to maintain a single source of truth, improve planning and procurement performance, support supplier collaboration, and optimize inventory and financial processes. 

 

Data Governance & Process Ownership 

  • Own procurement and raw material planning master data governance. 
  • Ensure compliance with corporate data standards, policies, and procedures. 
  • Monitor and improve procurement, planning, and AP process compliance across sites. 
  • Develop KPIs, scorecards, and governance routines to measure data quality and process performance. 
  • Partner with Procurement, AP, Receiving, and Planning teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions that reduce recurring exceptions. 
  • Own process compliance for Procurement, Planning, and AP workflows and drive resolution of recurring execution gaps. 
  • Establish ongoing monitoring mechanisms to ensure standardized process execution across all business units and sites. 
  • Maintain material and vendor master data, purchasing organizations/groups, MRP parameters, lead times, safety stock, reorder points, subcontracting and BOM planning data. 

 

Accounts Payable & Procure-to-Pay Governance 

  • Support AP process governance and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Monitor blocked invoices, GR/IR discrepancies, payment holds, and invoice exceptions. 
  • Partner with teams to resolve root causes and improve transaction accuracy. 
  • Track KPIs related to invoice processing, supplier disputes, aging transactions, and payment performance. 
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities related to AP processes. 
  • Lead recurring reviews of invoice exceptions, open purchase orders, unmatched receipts, and aged transactions. 

 

Data Quality & Planning Optimization 

  • Establish and monitor data quality metrics and controls. 
  • Conduct audits, root-cause analysis, and corrective action plans. 
  • Partner with planning teams to optimize inventory parameters and replenishment settings. 
  • Drive planning standardization and governance across sites. 
  • Lead reviews focused on planning performance, inventory health, and exception management. 

 

Systems & Continuous Improvement 

  • Serve as the SAP business lead for master data governance activities. 
  • Support ERP, planning system, and digital transformation initiatives. 
  • Lead process simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement efforts. 
  • Maintain documented processes, controls, and governance standards. 

 

Qualifications 

 

Education 

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Operations Management, or related field. 
  • Preferred: Relevant certifications such as SAP MM, SAP MDG, CPIM, CSCP, CDMP, or equivalent. 

 

Experience 

  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Planning, Master Data, or ERP systems. 
  • Strong demonstrated abilities with SAP S/4HANA and other SAP products. 
  • Experience with data governance, master data management, and cross-functional process improvement. 
  • Experience supporting procurement, third-party manufacturing, and P2P/AP processes preferred.
