Your position
As a Industrial Safety and Occupational Health Supervisor, you will report directly to the EHS Team Leader for Tlalneplanta Plant and play an integral role in the team. You will:
- Develop, manage, and implement occupational health and safety programs to reduce, prevent, and protect employees from workplace hazards, including occupational illnesses.
- Promote health and safety by motivating employees to raise awareness and provide leadership on health and safety issues.
- Conduct weekly health and safety inspections, measure all aspects, and audit compliance with the occupational health and safety program.
- Develop and implement standards for protective equipment, both engineering and PPE.
- Promote a safe working environment by coordinating plant inspections and submitting statistical reports.
- Review new products, equipment, and processes for potential risks and recommend modifications before introducing them. Conduct review meetings with project managers.
- Manage contractor access and authorize activities.
- Generate and/or review safety reports for different reporting levels.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
- Coordinate occupational health and safety meetings, prepare minutes, and distribute meeting information to plant personnel at all levels.
Your profile
The main role of the Industrial Safety and Occupational Health Engineer is to ensure the correct implementation of the safety and health management system activities at the plant, as well as compliance with legal and corporate standards.
Previous professional experience.
- Knowledge of STPS legal compliance (essential).
- Good communication skills.
- Conversational English (desirable).
- Proficiency in Office software (essential).
Education and Professional Background:
- Industrial, Chemical, or related engineering (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar positions (required)
- Knowledge of life-threatening work (hot work, heights, industrial vehicles, confined spaces, LOTO, crane operation, required).
Technical and Core Competencies
- Knowledge in SAP.
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Knowledge in Mexican Regulatory Standards (STPS, SEMARNAT, SSA, etc).
- Knowledge and experience in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.
