Job Opportunity: Maintenance Lead for a Total Refractory Management (TRM) Contract

🔹About You

You are an experienced electrical/mechanical professional with deep technical as well as hand-on expertise in steel plant maintenance. You have a proven track record in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing critical equipment, especially in steel plant electrical and mechanical systems.

Your hands-on experience with PLCs, electrical communication protocols, and industrial equipment reliability makes you a key contributor to operational excellence and plant uptime. With strong ownership and a proactive approach, you ensure maintenance readiness, spare parts availability, and continuous improvement.

Your strong cooperation and communication skills allow you to act as a trusted interface between RHI Magnesita and its customers.

Qualifications & Experience

• Electrical/ Millwright trade qualification with mechanical experience
• And / or a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in steel plant maintenance.
• Solid hands-on expertise machinery trouble shooting

• Practical experience in spare parts ordering, inventory management, and stock level planning.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
• Strong safety mindset and the ability to work effectively in high-demand industrial environments.
• Proficiency in MS Office; English fluency written and spoken.

🔹Purpose of the Role

The Maintance lead ensures reliable performance of steel plant equipment, leading maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement initiatives to guarantee equipment availability, process stability, and production continuity.

Key objectives include:

• Maintaining and improving the performance of Lalde slide gates systems, Hydrolic systems Gunning equipment, Ladle scanner, Cold setting Tundish casting equipment & Pan mixers

• Ensuring fast and accurate troubleshooting on all equipment to minimize downtime.
• Guaranteeing proper spare parts management to support uninterrupted operations.
• Reinforcing safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across all maintenance activities.
• Building and nurturing customer relationships while promoting RHIM products and services.

🔹Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily maintenance and troubleshooting activities across steel plant electrical and mechanical systems.
• Manage and optimize RHI Magnesita flow control equipment and Cold setting Tundish machines
• Read, analyze, and troubleshoot electrical diagrams and related circuits.
• Perform PLC diagnostics and troubleshooting, including logic interpretation and parameter adjustments.

• Maintain and manage electrical communication networks and industrial protocols used by plant automation systems.
• Oversee spare parts planning, ordering, inventory management, and stock level control to prevent shortages and ensure equipment readiness.
• Conduct equipment condition monitoring and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Maintain service logs, maintenance reports, failure analyses, and improvement documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and maintenance governance standards.
• Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of mechanical and electrical components.
• Engage with local vendors for purchasing, repairs.
• Identify improvement opportunities to reduce downtime, optimize equipment performance, and increase reliability.
• Participating in root cause analyses and drive corrective and preventive actions.
