Junior Professional IT Architect (m/f/d)

About you.

RHI Magnesita is currently seeking a Junior Professional IT Architect. You are person focused on optimizing the IT landscape (technologies, applications, IT infrastructure) of an international enterprise group from the enterprise architecture point-of-view!

 

You have – your qualifications:

Education

  • Minimum: successful graduation of a technical or economical secondary school (HTL, HAK)
  • Beneficial: successful graduation of an IT related technical college or university (e.g.: bachelor)
  • Beneficial: successful participation in business process management or IT related courses

Knowledge

  • Minimum: basic knowledge in IT terms and technologies (e.g.: cloud, as-a-service, client, server, network, office/business application, data analytics, database / DBMS, software development languages, software development tools, IT operations processes / ITIL, software architecture, interface, platform, IoT, communication technologies)
  • Minimum: basic knowledge in project management (or product management)
  • Beneficial: more than basic knowledge (e.g.: SCRUM, DevOps, agile principles, specific cloud environments like Microsoft Azure, identity and access management)
  • Beneficial: any knowledge in enterprise architecture and EA frameworks (e.g.: TOGAF)
  • Beneficial: any knowledge in business process management
  • Beneficial: any knowledge in (organizational) change management

Experience

  • Minimum: IT related (summer) internship, hands-on experience with IT like PCs/notebooks, web-based applications, use of office applications
  • Beneficial: IT-related job for more than 6 months
  • Beneficial: additional hands-on experience with IT, e.g.: software development, network router setup, use of cloud environments
  • Beneficial: use of business applications (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similiar)
  • Beneficial: work with external software development or IT service partners
  • Beneficial: work with peers and/or partners in different time zones

Language skills

  • Minimum: fluent English (level B2 or higher)
  • Beneficial: fluent German, any other language (e.g.: Portuguese)

Personal skills

  • good communication and presentation skill
  • good ability to create presentations and guiding documents (graphically and in written)
  • highly collaborative, good ability to work in teams
  • ability to work self-reliant
  • good analytic skills
  • good ability to detect and define structures

About the job

In this role, you will get familiar with mission and business strategy of the enterprise group, get an overview of the current IT landscape (business processes, data pools, technologies, applications, and IT infrastructure), learn about and contribute to the IT strategy, and support the development of the future IT landscape in line with business and IT strategy. From an enterprise architecture point-of-view you will prepare and refine a holistic overview with knowledge in various areas of IT architecture.

Main tasks & responsibilities:

  • Create and communicate IT architecture overview
  • understand the mission of the enterprise group
  • know business and IT strategy of RHI Magnesita
  • have an overview of the business processes of RHI Magnesita
  • collect respective information and prepare and communicate overviews of the current IT landscape
  • create IT architecture overview with graphical models and related tools

Relationship: Build and maintain relationship with IT service managers and technical architects

  • identify IT service managers and technical lead architects
  • build and maintain relationship with them
  • coordinate IT architecture requirements and IT architecture strategy with them

Change: Monitor and evaluate (non-standard) IT service requests

  • monitor the (non-standard) IT service requests (initial and change) against the IT strategy and the preferred technologies and platforms
  • report any deviations from the IT strategy to the IT top management team

Lifecycle: Drive detection and design of IT landscape transformation and optimization

  • drive the detection of IT landscape transformation requirements or opportunities, and document and communicate them
  • support the product owners, project managers and technical architects in the detection and definition of all activities required to implement new IT services in the business and IT organization
  • report the progress of the IT landscape to the IT top management team

Trends: Detect and coordinate trends in technical architecture (new and emerging technologies)

  • detect trends in technical architecture and coordinate with business and IT departments
  • identify required strategic IT architecture decisions and coordinate the decision process
  • document and communicate IT architecture decisions like preferred technologies and platforms

  • A full- time position (38,5 hrs / week) at our headquarter in Vienna. According to the Austrian labor law we are obligated to state that the monthly gross salary according to collective agreement starts from € 3.003,80.
