About the job
As a Global Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Project Manager in Europe, you will be reporting to the Head of Global Digitalization. In this position, you will be responsible for leading the MES pilot project implementation for a few European plants. Your focus lies in understanding the manufacturing business pain points and resolving them through establishment and execution of beneficial MES projects. You will evaluate and realize the most optimal technological solutions for our business to improve productivity, while simultaneously decreasing waste and cost. As a leader of innovation, you will be overseeing every phase of the project, as well as guiding plant employees through this transformative journey. You will be required to travel (inter)nationally about 50% of your work time.
In addition, your tasks will include
- Ensuring the project teams’ compliance with the use of standardized company project management controls (such as change and risk management, problem tracking, contingency planning etc.)
- Controlling compliance with project budgets
- Communicating the progress of projects through regular status updates
- Performing budget tracking, forecasting, financial reporting, and allotment procedures for projects/programs

What we expect from you in terms of
Education and Knowledge
- Preferably, a university degree in Manufacturing (with a strong technical affinity), Business Information Systems, Automation, Engineering, or similar
- Ideally, a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, or DevOps would be a plus
Languages
- English – Proficient/Fluent
- German – Proficient/Fluent – would be a considerable advantage
Work Experience
- Several years of relevant working experience as Project Manager, Lead Engineer, or similar in top tier MES supplier (for e.g. Rockwell, Siemens, AVEVA)
- Ideally, experience in the discrete & process manufacturing industries such as steel, automation, chemistry, glass etc.
