Electrical Eng Prof Senior

RHI Magnesita, a global leader in integrated solutions for refractory products and minerals is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support our mining and refractory brick manufacturing processes in York, PA. The engineer will be responsible for developing and managing the electrical and controls portion of projects to install new equipment or upgrade existing equipment. Projects may include power distribution, controls circuits, automation, and programming. This position will also be responsible for providing technical and hands-on assistance to the maintenance and production departments to maintain and improve our manufacturing equipment.


Responsibilities and Duties


  • Industrial electrical systems including circuit sizing and protection
  • Motor control systems
  • Control systems incorporating logic controllers, hard-wired circuits, process sensors, actuators and other automation and control devices
  • Electrical prints using AutoCad
  • Control panels
  • Automated equipment including vision systems, measuring systems, and robotic equipment
  • Develop project scopes, estimates, and specifications
  • Obtain bids for equipment and installation


  • PLC ladder logic and structured text
  • HMI graphics and scripting
  • Robots
  • Vision system configuration
  • PC configuration and support, including networking and industrial communications


  • Develop and maintain schedules for design, build, and install operations
  • Direct contractors to perform electrical installations
  • Direct start-up activities
  • Responsible for project budgets, timelines, and reporting

Technical Support

  • Provide technical support for production operations
  • Assist maintenance professionals with troubleshooting equipment failures


  • BS. Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of electrical project engineering and hands-on experience in an industrial environment
  • Ability to work safely in industrial environment, both on factory floor and in office.
  • Ability to work off hours or weekend when needed to support project or operations
  • Ability to work with all levels within the organization
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Authorized to work in United States
