Grinding Plant Operator
2nd shift: Friday-Tuesday 3p-11p (flexible weekend hours)
SUMMARY:
The Grinding Plant Operator is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient equipment operation while maintaining records and adhering to established safety and quality standards. The Griding Plant Operator manages material flow, operates various heavy machinery, and performs extensive cleaning and equipment inspections.   
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Promote a culture of safety within the department by setting a positive example and fostering environments where safe practices are a priority.
•    Control material flow to produce rotary kiln raw feed that meets established quality standards. 
•    Monitor storage bin levels to assess need and route excess accordingly. 
•    Operate vibratory screens, conveyors, and mobile equipment including a skid steer and forklift.
•    Perform daily clean-up which can be extensive and includes vacuuming, extensive shoveling, using high pressure hoses to clean out troughs, jack hammer, etc.  
•    Communicate to the Quarry and Rotary personnel as to the status of the Grinding Plant.
•    Inspect plant equipment and fill out daily checklist according to procedures.
•    Ensure cleanliness, upkeep, and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
•    Report any near miss, damage, safety concern, or injury utilizing the safety tracking system.
•    Work overtime and or different shifts as needed to cover for others in the department while on leave or vacation.
•    Effectively and openly communicate with all team members.
•    Perform other duties as assigned. 
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
•    Prior heavy mobile equipment experience is preferred (loader, excavator).
•    Demonstrates the ability to follow direction and ensure accuracy of paperwork, data entries, shift data, computerized work time entry, etc. 
•    MSHA Training kept current with all rules and regulations followed. 
•    Basic computer knowledge with Microsoft Excel, E-mail, and SAP.
HEALTH, SAFETY, & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
•    Perform all work in accordance with RHI Magnesita’s Health and Safety policies.
•    Adhere to all EHS and IMS policies and job expectations as specified in the Job Descriptions of the Persons Responsible for IMS, RHI Magnesita NAM Regional Safety Rules, Roles, Responsibilities, and Authorities, and Safety Rules and Responsibilities documents. 
•    The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements. 
•    Capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:
•    Physical demands include but are not limited to standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, climbing, and lifting – 50 pounds maximum.
•    Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (including hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, and gloves).
