IT Site Administrator
Job Purpose and Summary
The IT Site Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT services at our York RHI location. This position is vital for maintaining the local IT infrastructure, facilitating user support, and contributing to overall operational efficiency. Key duties include providing exceptional on-site and remote support to users, configuring and maintaining a variety of devices, and troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise.
- Delivering on-site and remote assistance to local users, ensuring they have the necessary tools and support to perform their tasks efficiently.
- Overseeing the installation and configuration of hardware including PCs and printers, ensuring optimal functionality within the local network.
- Actively troubleshooting various equipment and peripherals, addressing issues such as hard drives, keyboards, and printers to minimize downtime.
- Configuring and diagnosing office applications including MS Office and specialized software to meet organizational requirements.
- Performing troubleshooting efforts, diagnosing and resolving hardware/software problems while supporting Windows networks including AD management.
- Possessing basic knowledge in network cabling, connectivity, and virtualization methods (such as VMWare) for effective problem-solving.
- Assisting in documentation and capacity management, ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Managing local IT inventory including hardware management and tracking of software licenses.
Education and/or Experience
A formal education in Information Technology or an equivalent field is required, ensuring a foundational understanding of relevant technologies.
Knowledge, Skills, and General Abilities
- Strong computer literacy with advanced skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, facilitating effective interaction with users and colleagues.
- A detail-oriented and highly organized individual capable of working independently while contributing positively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Must have the ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally to assist with equipment management and installation.
- Ability to respond promptly to safety alerts and engage in emergency protocols as required.
- Competence in safely climbing ladders for equipment installations and maintenance.
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment in designated work areas to ensure safety compliance.
