About the opportunity? 

RHI Magnesita handles shipments across the North American (NAM ) region and requires a skilled l Import/Export & Customs Professional to ensure our supply chains run smoothly. We’re looking for a candidate with an eye for detail, a keen analytical mind, and the ability to handle a system with numerous moving parts. This often-high-pressure position will require candidates to perform at the apex of their abilities. Our goals are to make our processes as efficient as possible, maintain good relationships with suppliers, distributors, and vendors, and service our internal and external customers. 

• Ensuring the timely pick-up and delivery of containers and be a contact point for carrier and warehouse
• Follow up for last mile deliveries
• Review freight rates and other transportation/demurrage costs to keep working costs low
• Follow up forecast demurrage and other transportation expenses on weekly basis
• Analyze arrival of containers against port congestion, suggest new routes to reduce transit time and cost.
• following up with customs release and working with customs broker
• supporting and reviewing payment issue with vendor and AP
• Attention to detail, Strong time management skills,
• Communication skills, Ability to work well with others,

• Multitasking Organization skills, time management skills,
• Works well with deadlines, experience with local transportation, experience with US and Canada Import process
• Knowledge of SAP systems will be asset,
• Knowledge of Spanish, German or Portuguese will be an asset.
• Ability to travel 5% and on call evenings and weekend

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2 to 5 years Relevant Experience
• Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.
