About the opportunity?

The Minerals Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair operations within the Minerals Plant. This position involves coordinating a team of maintenance professionals to ensure that all machinery and equipment are functioning optimally.

  • Promote a culture of safety within the Minerals Maintenance team by setting a positive example and fostering environments where safe practices are a priority.
  • Assist employees entering safety shares, near miss, and first aids, in Safety Tracking System, ensuring timely reporting.
  • Participate in RCA’s led by the Safety Department involving Minerals Maintenance personnel.
  • Lead investigations of safety matters involving Minerals Maintenance personnel.
  • Assist in scheduling Maintenance Mechanics, Electricians, and Multicrafts on all shifts to complete PM’s and Service Orders by priority in various departments. 
  • Distribute work to all shifts and follow up with team as work progresses.
  • Evaluate progress of job and communicate with departments of work being performed, and timeline of completion.
  • Audit all scheduled work to ensure timeline and needs are being met.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling of maintenance work during outages and coordinate scheduled work with Engineering and outside contractors.
  • Responsible for maintaining production equipment availability and performance at satisfactory levels.
  • Attend production scheduling meetings.
  • Development of the Minerals Maintenance team to a higher level of skill by coaching, training, and job progression.
  • Assist Department Head with evaluating maintenance team skill levels, training requirements, evaluations, and reviews.
  • Schedule new employee training.
  • Report areas of opportunity and collaborate with resources to achieve results for employee development and equipment/processes.

About you:

  • Knowledge of maintenance activities and ability to schedule manpower and equipment in collaboration with production.
  • Must be able to identify and prioritize multiple projects and perform work with a constant awareness of improving processes.
  • In depth understanding of SAP Systems is necessary.
  • Ability to communicate with and coach team members.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn new practices and management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of plant equipment and process.
  • Capable of completing work in a timely manner.
  • The ability to remain calm and rational during stressful situations, to ensure good conflict resolution.
  • 2 years’ experience in an industrial environment in a leadership capacity.
  • Ability to identify, observe, and assess materials and equipment.
  • Accuracy of paperwork, data entries, shift data, computerized work time entry, SPC, etc.
  • Working knowledge of MSHA regulations.
  • Willing to work off shifts and weekends as required to maintain the plant equipment.
