Responsibilities:
- Promote and actively participate in the safety process to ensure safe working practices within the plant, targeting hazard recognition and injury prevention.
- Have a solid understanding of all safety procedures and practices.
- Responsible for continually developing and maintaining the production schedule to meet customer orders and inventory requirements.
- Fosters the values and habits consistent with RHIM culture.
- Gain knowledge of all planning areas to fully understand the bottle necks and how downtime and efficiencies impact the schedule.
- Interface with Customer Service and production personnel to ensure optimal balancing of production efficiencies, scrap rates, and customer demands.
- Coordinate PM’s, maintenance, and outages with Production and Maintenance.
- Maintain inventory targets where appropriate, ensuring targets are kept up to date to meet customer requirements while maintaining planned inventory levels.
- Utilize the management system to meet established goals and objectives and drive continual improvement.
- Generate daily and weekly production reports.
- Position requires a 24/7 commitment with some scheduling calls taking place on nights/weekends.
- Position requires training as backup(s) to support the departmental needs.
- Assist in the coordination of process improvement implementations.
- Coordinate with other departments to develop and maintain scheduling parameters.
Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively multi-task in a very fast paced environment is a must.
- Internal fortitude to make the tough, but correct, decisions when faced with competing interests from various departments (internal and external customers).
- Professional attitude and approach to work.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong experience with purchasing, MRP/ERP systems (SAP).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
