Project Expert
Job Purpose and Summary
This position will be an integral part of our North America regional team (NAM) reporting to the Chief of Staff & working extremely closely with the Regional Leadership Team including Regional President. This role will be expected to become well acquainted with the business processes of North America, then expanding their knowledge over time to how those processes relate and differ from other regions & global functions within the RHI Magnesita group. Also, this role will be expected push systematically for progress on actions and topics, whether as an outcome of a topic or as part of a project.]
The Project Expert role will offer an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual who excels in building relationships, possesses strong analytical skills, and has a drive for delivering results. The ideal candidate will have experience working in project management and a keen ability to see the big picture while effectively managing details. Experience with mergers and acquisitions and familiarity with capital expenditures (CAPEX) are highly desirable. This position requires approximately 20% periodic travel.
Essential Job Requirements
Project Planning and Execution: Collaborate with project leaders to define project objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements. Develop and execute project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with regional & project stakeholders, including cross-functional teams. Effectively communicate project status, milestones, and risks. Address stakeholder concerns and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Mergers and Acquisitions Support: Assist in coordinating and supporting project activities related to mergers and acquisitions, such as due diligence, integration planning, and post-merger integration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions and realization of strategic objectives.
Whole-Picture Perspective: Demonstrate an ability to understand the interconnectedness of various project elements and their impact on overall project success. Identify dependencies, potential bottlenecks, and areas for optimization. Provide recommendations to the North America top management team on optimizing project outcomes and drive efficiency. Guide our End-To-End (E2E) initiatives in North America and collaborate with our global E2E team in coordinating then executing the implementation of these E2E initiatives.
Ad-Hoc Analyses: support analysis requests together within dept and in collaboration with other global RHI Magnesita departments as needed.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and General Abilities
- Experience in project management, demonstrating the ability to handle multiple active topics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Able to attend and lead meetings as well as analytical presentations.
- Experience with capital expenditure (CAPEX) management is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with mergers and acquisitions processes and concepts is a plus.
- Proficiency in common office software, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft PowerBI, is a must.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as: Microsoft Project, SAP ERP systems or similar applications are a plus.
- Experience in financial business case planning is a plus.
- Fluent in written and spoken English is a must.
- Experience in written and spoken Spanish is a plus.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
