Shipping Analyst
Job Purpose and Summary
This position will be an integral part of our York Plant Operations & Logistics reporting to the York Planning and Logistics Supervisor & working closely with the Customer Service, Transportation, and Supply Chain teams in North America. This role will be expected to become well acquainted with the business systems and processes of North America, with an emphasis on the commercial business processes and system flows that intersect with the York Shipping areas. This role will be expected to be the main point of contact for connecting York shipping execution with the involved RHI Magnesita groups and, in the event of customer-handled transportation, connecting with our customer liaisons for shipment coordination.
The Commercial Shipping Analyst role will offer an opportunity for an organized individual to be a key contributor to our largest North America operations facility in York, Pennsylvania USA. The Analyst should possess strong analytical skills, a high aptitude for navigating ERP and related add-on systems and has a clear verbal and written communication style. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Commercial or Customer Service areas and a keen ability to determine and acquire the appropriate system data to support the York shipping areas. This position requires approximately 10% periodic travel.
Essential Job Requirements
ERP Systems (SAP Preferred) Proficiency: strong proficiency in ERP system use, particularly in related logistics, shipping, inventory control and order management applications.
Operational Analysis: proven ability to analyze, retrieve, and interpret data from multiple business systems to support operational decision-making and provide the necessary information to our RHIM teams & customers.
Communication Liaison: excellent written and verbal professional communication skills to interact with customer service, transportation, internal stakeholder teams and customer contacts.
Business Knowledge: develop a connected understanding of commercial, transportation, shipping, distribution and customer fulfillment business activities occurring within our systems and process flows
Education and/or Experience
- At least 1 year of experience in Commercial or Customer Service
Knowledge, Skills, and General Abilities
- Experience with commercial logistics, warehouse management and order management is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in common office software, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as: SAP ERP systems or similar applications are a plus.
- Experience in SAP S4/H order management is highly desirable
- Fluent in written and spoken English is a must, with Spanish fluency preferred.
- Willingness to take business travel approximately 10% of the time.
- Develop & maintain SOP’s
