SUMMARY:
The Sizing Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production machinery and equipment within the Sizing Plant. The Sizing Plant Operator monitors production processes, performs quality checks, and helps to ensure that production schedules are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Promote a culture of safety within the Unshaped Department by setting a positive example and fostering environments where safe practices are a priority.
- Follow all safety procedures and lockouts as required.
- Responsible for safe operation of all equipment in the MgO and HPS plants following the SOP and quality guidelines.
- Inspect mobile equipment and fill out daily checklist according to procedure.
- Computer entry including the logging of daily production and material transfers in SAP, Excel, Word.
- Timely verbal and written communication of department activities is required daily.
- Check plant equipment daily for safe operation and report equipment problems to Maintenance and/or Supervisor.
- Obtain samples as required by the Quality Control Guidelines to ensure all materials meet specifications. Analyze Lab results to solve operational problems.
- Operate mobile equipment required for department operation after proper training (Mack Dump Trucks, Forklift, Bobcat & Loader).
- Transfer material from the Old Sizing Plant as needed.
- Perform daily and weekly cleanups, including PM’s, look for and report any possible problems while ensuring the area is kept clean and organized.
- Cross training as necessary (ex. BP Mixing crushing and outside duties).
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Must be safe, quality oriented, and a self-motivated team player.
- Ability to use experience to exercise independent judgment and make decisions on quality.
- Must have the ability and desire to be successfully cross trained in all positions throughout the department.
- Must be willing to accept accountability, work toward continual improvement, and have a positive attitude.
HEALTH, SAFETY, & WORK ENVIORNMENT:
- Perform all work in accordance with RHI Magnesita’s Health and Safety policies.
- Adhere to all EHS and IMS policies and job expectations as specified in the Job Descriptions of the Persons Responsible for IMS, RHI Magnesita NAM Regional Safety Rules, Roles, Responsibilities, and Authorities, and Safety Rules and Responsibilities documents.
- The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements.
- Capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery.
- Capable of operating various types of office equipment including but not limited to computers, phones, copiers, and scanners.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:
- Physical demands include but are not limited to standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, climbing, working at heights, and lifting – 50 pounds maximum.
